My journey behind the lens began when I was seventeen, working at a summer camp. One warm evening, after a long day in the sun, I was walking back to my cabin with only a dim headlamp lighting my way when I heard a single, crisp shutter click in the darkness.

Curious, I followed the sound and found a friend with his camera set on a tripod in the field, photographing the night sky. He explained the concept of long-exposure photography to me—a camera’s ability to gather even the faintest light—and I was immediately captivated. That moment opened my eyes to the extraordinary potential of photography: to transform light, no matter how subtle or distant, into art.
